In 2008, we got the idea to make a bigger version of our Louieʼs Demise Amber Ale. Age it in bourbon barrels for two months and call it Louieʼs Resurrection. Itʼs been fun taking a recipe that weʼve been brewing for 20 years and turning it up to 11, making it bigger and bigger every year.
In 2014, Louieʼs Resurrection Bourbon Barrel Aged Amber won a Gold Medal at the Festival of Barrel Aged Beer. In 2016, Louieʼs Resurrection Brandy Barrel Aged Amber won a Silver Medal.
For our 2018, we are going back to the award winning recipe of aging in Copper & Kings Oak Brandy barrels. You can expect a fruity, wine like aroma with the distinctive warm flavor of fortified Louieʼs Demise that finishes with a flourish of vanilla, dark chocolate and cherries.
4-Packs of 2018 Louie’s Resurrection will hit brewery and retail shelves on Friday, October 12th! The Milwaukee Ale House will also have a 4-year vertical of 2015-2018 Resurrection on tap while supplies last.
