Today we are bottling Booyah! Complex flavors and aromas come from a variety of sources. Barley malt and wheat help create a smooth body and attribute a pleasant golden hue while the addition of malted rye and oats brings out a solid earthy flavor. Czech Saaz Hops help create a citrus nose.
What makes this beer truly special is the Saison Ale yeast strain used to ferment this beer. The subtle hints of tangerine, peach and licorice are the hallmarks of this particular yeast.

Today we bottled Louie’s Resurrection! What makes Resurrection unique is the 2 months of aging in fresh Bourbon Barrels, the barrels contribute a warm, smooth flavor that comes from the bourbon soaked oak. Louie’s Resurrection has a copper/amber hue with a sweet apricot and malt aroma. Caramel, vanilla, bourbon, and some roasted malt flavor are well balanced. You can find Louie’s Resurrection at your local liquor store very soon!

The installation is not quite complete but it is well on its way. With these new panels we are the first “green beer” creating facility in the city. The hot water panels will be used to heat the water we use in our brewing process and will reduce energy costs by up to 27 percent!

With the new arrival of Hop Happy cans we thought we would get right down to business and start the canning process! We like to use cans instead of bottles because they are the most recycled package in the world, far lighter which reduces energy used to ship, they require less energy to produce as compared to a bottle. There is zero light intrusion which makes the beer better. Cans are safer because they don’t chip or shatter like a bottle and they are 100% recyclable!

So…we had this spiced amber recipe that was originally written for a Christmas release but it didn’t get brewed until now! We decided to call it Elf’s Lament because this elf is quite sad that the beer didn’t make it out in time for Christmas. But, better late than never right? We think so!

This beer is a full bodied, malt driven, spiced amber ale with hints of plum, cinnamon and dried fruits. It really tastes like Christmas in a glass… and who doesn’t love Christmas?! We hope you like this one. You can find it on tap here at the brewery as well as at The Milwaukee Ale House!

Brewers Choice Series

The Brewers Choice series is designed to give our talented brewing staff a chance to be creative and to think outside the box. There will be 4 Brewer’s Choice Styles throughout the 2013 season. The other three flavors are To Be Determined and guaranteed to be interesting. We hope you enjoy our ideas. Cheers from the MBC brewing staff.

This Doppelvision Doppelbock is the first edition to our “Brewers Choice” series of beers produced at the 2nd St. Brewery location. It is a sweet malt forward lager, with subtle hints of vanilla, coconut, and bourbon from its 1 month of maturation in Bourbon barrels. Ten varieties of malt come together to produce a smooth drinkable beer with notes of coffee, toffee, and caramel. Noble German hops help balance the malt character with a hint of spice.

ABV – 7.0% IBU – 30.5g

OG – 17.5° P FG – 4.0 ° P

You can find this tasty creation on tap right here at our brewery as well as at The Milwaukee Ale House. We really hope you enjoy this new series and please stay tuned for our other Brewer’s Choice flavors!
